Care & Keeping Curious Things

Each piece is made by hand and meant to be treasured, not tossed around. Care cards come with each item, but here are some general guidelines I recommend for most items:

WOOD
  • Avoid prolonged water exposure. A quick splash won’t hurt, but don’t soak it.
  • Keep away from alcohol-based perfumes or solvents that can eat through sealant.
  • Store in a dry place, out of direct sun.

If it ever feels like the surface has dulled over time, a gentle rub with a soft microfiber cloth can help restore some luster, but it shouldn’t need much.

RESIN
  • Avoid leaving it in extreme heat (cars, windowsills, etc.). It can warp if it gets too hot.
  • Don’t store resin pieces under heavy objects.
  • Clean with a damp cloth only,  no alcohol or harsh cleaners.
LEATHER
  • The leather has been sealed with a protective finish and waxed.
  • Avoid over-bending or creasing.
  • Avoid prolonged water exposure.
  • Keep away from solvents.
  • Store in a dry place, out of direct sun.

If it feels like the surface has dulled over time, a gentle rub with a soft microfiber cloth can help restore some shine. You can try a light application of leather wax or polish if you feel it's needed.

PAPER-BASED/ PRESSED FIBER
  • These are reinforced, sealed, and treated, but still prefer dry, gentle conditions.
  • Avoid direct water or high humidity.
  • Spot clean only, and avoid pressure or friction on the surfaces.
URETHANE RUBBER
  • This is a durable material, but avoid storing/long term exposure to UV light.
  • Clean with damp cloth. Avoid alcohol or acetone.
  • Store flat to avoid bending over time.
