Wondering about something?
A few questions come up often, so I’ve gathered them here.
If yours isn’t listed, just send me a message.
The Studio
Below are some answers about custom orders, timelines, pricing, materials sourcing, and ensuring you get genuine pieces.
Are your products made by hand?
Yes! Each and every piece is designed and made by me, Gabby Leithsceal, Prop Master and Founder. From initial sketches to final finishes to packing it to mail.
Do you accept custom orders or personalization?
Yes, I do! From size adjustments to color variations, or even personal touches and interesting combos. Let's chat about what you have in mind and I'll do my best to make it happen.
How long will it take to receive my order?
Everything is made in small batches with pieces at various stages of completion. Sometimes you'll catch a finished batch ready to ship, other times pieces need a bit more time in the studio.
Custom orders always require additional time since creation begins after we finalize your specific requirements.
Current Production Times (from order to shipping)
- 1-2 Business Days before shipment
- 3-5 Business Days before shipment
- 5-7 Business days before shipment
These times are posted and updated regularly on the shipping information page.
Can designs be modified for weddings or unions?
Absolutely!
I offer personalized options and color matching specifically for weddings and unions. These beautiful celebrations deserve unique touches, and I'd love to support you in creating something special as you begin your new chapter.

Are group orders customizable or discounted?
Yes, group orders can be customized!
As for discounts, those are handled case-by-case. I understand that group gatherings and events are meaningful occasions, whether they're celebrations, fun get-togethers, or more heartfelt moments, so I'm happy to work with you personally to help make your event memorable.
Let's chat about your event
Do you offer gift wrapping or gift notes?
At this time I do not offer gift wrapping, but I'm happy to include a gift note.
Where are your materials sourced?
I've intentionally sought out and vetted small, family-run US businesses that prioritize ethical and responsible practices.
From Arbor Day Foundation hardwood to traditional tannery leather to packaging materials, I'm committed to supporting other small businesses who share similar values.

COPYCATS & IMPERSONATORS
Below is some information about the problem of counterfeits and copycats, plus tips on how to protect yourself and help stop them.
I saw something that looked like your designs on Amazon or Temu, is that you too?
No.
I don't sell on Amazon, Temu, Shein, or any other mass-market site. I only sell through Hidden Realm Studios' official storefronts on Etsy and my own websites and always under my brand name.
OFFICIAL STOREFRONTS (Updated: February 1, 2026):

If you've seen something that looks like my work elsewhere, it's a stolen design.
Several of my original pieces and photos have been heavily copied, counterfeited and sold without permission, mainly my Modrake Skull & Bone and my Deathmoth.
❖ I'm currently pursuing legal action against the companies behind those listings. ❖
How can I verify I'm getting an authentic Hidden Realm Studios piece?
Every genuine piece comes directly from me, in Loveland Ohio, with my branding, in branded packaging, with personalization, and a signed certificate of authenticity.
My credentials are easily verifiable: from my social media and film credits to appearing on Face Off Season 7.
If you're ever unsure about authenticity, please feel free to reach out to me here or on my socials, my website, or my store on Etsy.
Fake Listings, Real Harm
If you would like to know more or do something about the copycats who profit from stealing from both artists and buyers, I’ve put together a guide to help you spot imposters, protect your experience, and report any fakes you run into.
FILM INDUSTRY
Below are some answers about my film background, movie credits, and how that work connects to Hidden Realm Studios.
Do you still work in the film industry?
Yes!
I mostly work off-set now as a contractor, which allows me to continue working on film projects while keeping my focus on Hidden Realm Studios.
However, if a LOTR-type project comes along, I would so absolutely pursue full time on that.
Have I seen your work in anything?
You might have!
The latest film I worked on is 'The Asylum.' My favorite project was 'Strangers 2: Prey at Night,', I created the masks for 'Haunt.' and I was on Syfy's Faceoff Sfx makeup show. Most of my film & TV credits are listed on IMDB.
For tons of behind-the-scenes photos and info of my work through 2020, check out my portfolio site (note: working on adding the newer stuff as I can there).
What's a prop master, anyway?
A prop master is the head of the props department, responsible for acquiring, organizing, and overseeing all props used on set.
Props are a lot more than decoration. They must be visually accurate but also functional in a safe yet cinematic way. Prop masters ensure every needed prop makes it to set by purchasing, renting, or creating them within budget and on schedule. They must be especially creative when making custom props for a story and often need duplicates for breakable items.
Prop masters are incredibly important for both the telling of a story and the safety of the cast and crew. Their work can make or break a film.
Can I get the prop/mask/costume you made for _______ movie?
As a cosplayer and fan myself, I wish I could share those with you! Unfortunately, it's incredibly rare.
When working on film/TV productions, I have a contract with that production and they own the rights to what I create for that project. I cannot reproduce those pieces to sell.
Occasionally I'll have prototypes, color matches, or fabrications with flaws that couldn't be used on screen. Those I can possibly sell.
Sometimes arrangements allow the rights to remain with me, or I'll have production permission. When that happens, I can sell those pieces.
In general, I won't offer any film work here. If I do sell pieces from productions, they'll be listed through auction houses or on my personal socials.
Are any of your pieces from a production you worked on?
No.
However, sometimes production experiences spark ideas for new designs.
For example: In Strangers: Prey at Night, breakaway glass shards from set inspired one of my designs. I used those film-used shards to make a mold for my Shattered: film effect necklace - a safe rubber glass shard tipped with a blood drip.
Terminology & Voice
Below are some answers about hair accessory terminology & why the voice changes between I/me and we/our.
What's the difference between a hairpin, hair stick, and stick slide?
These terms have specific meanings, however they are often interchanged.
- HAIRPIN: A U-shaped pin with prongs used to secure buns or updos. Grips hair by weaving through rather than sliding in. "Hairpin" is often used as a general term for all hair accessories.
- HAIR STICK: A straight stick used to twist and secure hair into a bun or knot. These rely on twisting hair around them for staying power and are more decorative, often worn visibly.
- STICK SLIDE: A decorative piece with a hole or loop paired with a separate stick that slides through to hold hair in place. These tend to be wider and more ornamental for statement looks.
Why do I see both "I" and "our" on your site?
Honestly, it makes writing easier.
Even though I'm the only one sculpting, painting, and packing orders, you'll notice Hidden Realm Studios often speaks in "we" and "our."
It's called nosism, a weird little word for when one person speaks as a collective. It helps keep a gentle boundary between me (Gabby, the artist) and Hidden Realm Studios (the strange little world I've built).
One person, one set of hands, and a studio that speaks for itself.
